I want to share with you a product that we love when we start having a lot of our Guests going to the highlights and the balayages; anything with lighter tones. You will notice a lot of times your hair can get a bit of unwanted “warmth”, especially our grey haired to white haired Guests who start to get that yellowing happening. For that we have something awesome. That’s AVEDA’s blue malva shampoo and conditioner.
When you are speaking to hair color, you are speaking to your hair’s level and your hair’s tone. Level is determined by how light or how dark your hair is within each color family. The level can be light, medium or dark. For example, if you have brown hair, it can be light brown, medium brown or dark brown
Your hair’s tone is determined by how warm or cool the shade it is. A warm hair tones has gold or copper highlights. A cool hair tone has no gold or red hues.
Blue malva is a violet-based shampoo and conditioner. What that does is it cancels out those unwanted yellow tones. The shampoo will neutralize those brassy hair tones in all shades, especially blonde hair. It will add a silvery brightness to grey hair. The violet hue makes light and blonde hair look fresh and bright and brightens and it revives the natural hue of all hair tones.
The scent contains AVEDA’s pure-fume™ aroma with certified organic ylang ylang, lemon, eucalyptus and other pure flower and plant essences. It smells fresh and heavenly. To use, simply massage onto wet hair, lather and rinse. Follow with blue malva color conditioner.
AVEDA’s blue malva conditioner is formulated with blue malva and coneflower and helps delivers that wanted moisture and brightness. It deep conditions and leaves your hair lightweight and manageable. Like the blue malva shampoo, it is for all shades of hair, adds silvery brightness to gray hair, and neutralizes brassy tones in all shades. To use, apply to hair that has been shampooed with blue malva shampoo. Comb through. Leave on 2–5 minutes. For deeper color deposit and conditioning, leave on longer. Use every 2–3 shampoos for consistent, lasting color enhancement. Note, chemically treated hair will take color more intensely. Consult your stylist or colorist. Product should be promptly rinsed to avoid staining to hands, clothing or bathroom fixtures.
This is something you would just use as needed, you don’t have to use it every single time you wash, just use it as you start to see those yellowish tones develop a little bit, this will help break it up for you.
It’s okay if you have a little bit of warmth, but if that is not what your goal is, then you want to be able to mute it down a little bit. Blue malva is something you can almost use as a toner at home. What that is going to do is to help calm down any of those really bright reflective tones that you may see. These tones can happen simply if you are in the process of going lighter, or can be caused by environmental factors such as minerals in your water can do it, even heat styling. All of those things can cause your hair to go “warm” a little bit.
Blue malva shampoo and conditioner are a really great solution in refreshing grey hair and neutralizing unwanted brassy tones for colored hair. It delivers a silvery sheen to grey hair, moisturizes, volumizes and provides a way to keep up with your color at home between your visits to your stylist!
